Disney World hotels for a family of 6 come down to five room types, and all five are either a value-resort suite, a cabin, or a villa that costs more than $1,000 a night. Every standard room on property sleeps four, or five with a child-size pull-down, so most families of six end up booking two rooms on different floors. A 4-bedroom home three miles from the gates sleeps eight with four bathrooms for less than one family suite, and this post shows both options with the real numbers.
Disney Hotels That Sleep 6: All Five Room Types
Occupancy at Disney is a fire-code limit, so paying more never adds a fifth or sixth person to a room. These are the Disney hotels that sleep 6 in one unit, with the nightly rate including tax from the published rate calendars.
| Room | Sleeps | What you get | Nightly rate |
|---|---|---|---|
| All-Star Music Family Suite | 6 plus crib | Queen bed, double sleeper sofa, double pull-down, two full bathrooms, kitchenette. Bus only. | $398 to $460 in value season |
| Art of Animation Family Suite | 6 plus crib | Queen in the bedroom, double pull-down table bed, double sleeper sofa, two bathrooms, kitchenette. Skyliner. | $555 to $629 value, $884 to $912 Christmas |
| Fort Wilderness Cabin | 6 | Queen, bunk bed, double sleeper sofa, full kitchen, one bathroom. Internal bus, then boat or bus. | $555 to $840 in January |
| 2-bedroom Deluxe Villa | 8 or 9 | King, two queens, sleeper sofa, two full bathrooms, kitchen, washer. Old Key West is the cheapest; Riviera and Grand Floridian sleep 9. | $1,062 to $1,906 at Old Key West, $2,577 and up at Riviera |
| Copper Creek Cabins, Polynesian Bungalows | 8 | Two bedrooms, sleeper sofa and pull-downs, private hot tub. | $2,000 and up |
Disney family suites fit four small children well. The catch is the beds: both doubles are smaller than a queen, fine for little ones and a squeeze for anyone over about 5 feet. Disney’s Art of Animation rooms page has the layouts.

The 5-Sleeper Rooms, and Why a Teen Breaks Them
Disney World hotels for a family of 5 are a longer list, because most moderate and deluxe rooms stretch to five. Read the fine print on who sleeps where.
- Caribbean Beach and Port Orleans Riverside: two queens plus a bunk-width pull-down bed, fine for a child under about 10 and not for a teen. $310 to $405 a night at Caribbean Beach in winter.
- Most deluxe resorts: two queens plus a twin day bed. Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom Lodge standard rooms sleep four.
- A child under 3 in a crib never counts, so a family of six with a baby is a family of five for occupancy.
- Extra adults pay roughly $15 to $35 a night by resort tier. Suites and villas do not charge it.
The full list by resort is on this room occupancy page. A family of 5 with a 14-year-old is, for sleeping purposes, a family of 6.
Two Rooms at Disney: What It Costs and What Goes Wrong
Those five are the only Disney hotels that sleep 6 in one unit, so Disney World hotels for a family of 6 usually means two rooms. That is how most of our guests with six did Disney before they found us, and the problems repeat.
Connecting rooms at Disney World are a request, not a booking: Disney’s site cannot book two rooms on one reservation, the request is honored only within the same room category and “based on availability,” and nobody gets a guarantee. One parent sleeps in each room. A family of 7 at Disney World has no single room below a villa, so this is their only hotel option.
A seven-night week for six, room only. Disney figures are rack rates with tax; ours are live booking-engine quotes for the same week with cleaning fee, damage protection, taxes and card fees included.
| Option | Sleeps | Bathrooms | 7 nights, value season | 7 nights, spring break |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| All-Star Music Family Suite | 6 | 2 | about $2,975 | about $3,400 |
| Art of Animation Family Suite | 6 | 2 | about $4,130 | about $4,700 |
| Two Caribbean Beach rooms | 10 | 2 | about $4,690 | about $5,400 |
| Old Key West 2-bedroom villa | 9 | 2 | about $7,700 | $9,000 and up |
| FunStay 3-bedroom townhome, Windsor Hills | 6 | 3 | $1,839 | $2,968 |
| FunStay 4-bedroom townhome, Magic Village | 8 | 4.5 | $2,067 | $3,314 |

Add the car before you compare. A seven-seat minivan runs $100 to $160 a day and park parking $25 to $35 a day off property, so a park-heavy week carries $1,100 to $1,500 that a Disney hotel guest does not pay. Even so, the 4-bedroom lands $800 to $1,000 under one Art of Animation suite in value season and $2,000 under two moderate rooms. Our vacation home vs hotel cost breakdown runs the full week including food, and the case for a house on a longer Disney trip gets stronger each night.
What you give up by leaving property is real: 30 minutes of early entry, free park parking, the Skyliner, and a Lightning Lane window that opens seven days out instead of three. For a family that rope-drops every morning on a three-night trip, the suite can be the right call.

How to Choose: By Kids’ Ages and Trip Length
- Four children under 10, three or four nights, rope drop every day: the All-Star Music or Art of Animation suite, the only Disney hotels that sleep 6 at a value price. Early entry earns its price on a short park-heavy trip.
- A teen in the mix, or five nights or more: a 3 or 4-bedroom home. Disney World hotels for a family of 5 stop working when the fifth sleeper outgrows the pull-down, and teens on a sofa bed is the most common regret in the forums.
- Seven or eight people: a 4-bedroom home, or two Disney rooms with a parent in each. A villa for seven starts at $1,100 a night.
- Three generations: the single-level 4-bedroom, with bedroom doors and a kitchen for early risers.
- Christmas week or spring break: book early. Our guide to when to book a vacation rental near Disney has the windows, and most of our homes ask for 7 nights in those weeks.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which Disney resort rooms can sleep 6 people?
Five room types. The Disney family suites at All-Star Music and Art of Animation, the Fort Wilderness cabins, and at deluxe prices the 2-bedroom villas and the cabins and bungalows at Copper Creek and the Polynesian, which sleep 8 or 9. Every standard room at every other Disney resort sleeps 4 or 5, so Disney hotels that sleep 6 are a short list.
How much does it cost for a family of 6 to stay at Disney World for one week?
For the room alone, about $3,000 for an All-Star Music family suite in value season, $4,100 for an Art of Animation suite, $4,700 for two moderate rooms, and $7,700 for a 2-bedroom villa at Old Key West at rack rate. A 4-bedroom vacation home 3 miles from the gates runs about $2,100 for the same week with every fee and tax included, plus a car.
How many people can stay in a family suite at Disney World?
Six, plus one child under 3 in a crib. The suite has a queen bed in the bedroom, a double pull-down bed and a double sleeper sofa in the living area, and two bathrooms. The two double beds are smaller than queens, which is fine for young children and tight for teens.
Does Disney World have connecting rooms?
Yes, but connecting rooms at Disney World are a request, not a booking. Disney’s site cannot book two rooms on one reservation, the request is honored only if both rooms are in the same category and only based on availability, and no connecting room is guaranteed. Book both rooms, call to add a Travel With note, and call again to confirm it is on the reservation.
Where can a family of 7 stay at Disney World?
In one unit, only a 2-bedroom villa, which sleeps 8 or 9 and starts around $1,100 a night at Old Key West. Otherwise two rooms with a parent in each. Off property, a family of 7 at Disney World fits a 4-bedroom vacation home that sleeps 7 to 9 with three or four bathrooms for a fraction of the villa rate.
